MeWater Youth Volunteer Opportunities

MeWater welcomes youth ages 13-17 to volunteer to support our surf camps. Volunteering for a MeWater Camp is an excellent way for youth to meet their community service hours requirement or engage meaningfully to give back to our community. Either way, we are here for it!

  • Youth volunteers do not need surfing experience, though it would be excellent if they did

  • Surf camp volunteers work with our team to prepare and clean surf and beach equipment and support the MeWater youth on the beach and in the ocean during the camp session

  • MeWater holds its camps weekly throughout the year, with most of our camps taking place during summer

  • Single-day surf camps typically require a 4-5 hour time commitment

MeWater programming is all about opening up the canvas of Mother Nature to our participants and letting them paint and create their own experiences. It is the same for our volunteers. Please reach out below if you want to learn more about our youth volunteer opportunities.

MeWater has enriched my life in ways I had never anticipated. The connections cultivated with fellow teens, community members, staff leaders, and the individuals I have had the opportunity to work with have made a permanent mark on my heart. What began as a high school service project has become an essential part of my life, where I have formed lasting friendships and have become part of an amazing community that loves the outdoors, and more importantly sharing that love with others.

Our son started volunteering with MeWater for required service hours. In no time, MeWater became like a second family to him and he has spent hundreds of extra hours with MeWater. He says MeWater is “something special” and arranges his schedule around MeWater surf days and camping trips. We have seen the joy these days bring him, while also noting a lot of growth in his confidence, empathy, listening skills, and leadership. There’s nothing he enjoys more than sharing his joy of the ocean with others. Thank you MeWater!

We are super grateful to you Eddie and all that you do for our son and for the community! You Rock!

Upcoming MeWater Camp Surf Days!

Confirmed MeWater Camp Dates. Stay tuned for more dates.

Volunteering at MeWater is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love that I get to share my love for surfing with others and make new friends every time we have a surf day. All the volunteers are super friendly and kind and the kids we work with are so amazing. The days I volunteer are the best days ever! They always are full of super fun waves and awesome people who all come together to make amazing memories. MeWater has pushed me out of my comfort zone and has helped me grow as a person I get to show up for others and there is always a community showing up for me.
